How to import an email template to an email service provider of your choice

With the PosterMyWall email maker, download your emails as HTML code to use with external email service providers. In this guide, we’ll look into how you can add and send your email via these commonly used email service providers: 

  1. Gmail
  2. AOL Mail
  3. Mailchimp
  4. Yahoo! Mail

Import HTML to your Gmail

  1. Select Copy (first option) in the Export option on the top menu in the Email Editor. 
  2. Go to your Gmail client and click Compose. Paste your email to the Compose window. 
  3. Use ctrl + v on your Windows laptop keyboard to paste it. Use cmd + v for your Macbook. 
  4. Add your subject line and emails of recipients in their respective boxes. 
  5. Click send. 

Import HTML to your AOL Mail

  1. Select Copy (first option) in the Export option on the top menu in the Email Editor. 
  2. Open AOL Mail, click Compose from your Inbox. 
  3. In the body of the email, right click and paste the email. 
  4. Add your subject line and emails of recipients in their respective boxes. 
  5. Click send

Import HTML to your Yahoo! Mail

  1. Select Copy (first option) in the Export option on the top menu in the Email Editor. 
  2. Head over to your Yahoo! Mail email client and open Compose
  3. Right click and paste the email to the Compose pop-up menu. 
  4. Add your subject line and emails of recipients in their respective boxes. 
  5. Click the Send button to send your email, or the Save as Draft but to save and use for later.  

Import HTML to Mailchimp 

You need to have at least the Mailchimp standard plan to use custom HTML emails from PosterMyWall. HTML code added to Mailchimp may also be limited in some respects, learn more here

Here’s some of the ways you can add your HTML to Mailchimp

Use Paste in code

To start off, save your, copy your HTML code via the Export option in the email editor. 

Head over to Mailchimp, and do the following: 

  1. Click Content, then click Email templates.
  2. Click Create Template.
  3. Select the Code your own tab, and click Paste in code
  4. Replace your HTML code with the example code, and click Save

Import HTML

Alternately, you can create a custom email template via copied HTML code: 

  1. Click Content, then click Email templates. 
  2. Click the Create Template button. 
  3. Select the Code your own tab, and click Import HTML
  4. Click browse and open your HTML file from your device (make sure you have the code downloaded instead of copied from the PosterMyWall email maker).
  5. Name the template and click Upload.
