What are the quality differences between the free and paid image download options?

We offer free image downloads, but you can also purchase high resolution image downloads for $2.99 and $7.99. 

The free download quality is good enough to be shared on social media, and it has a tiny watermark on the bottom left of the image. GettyImages stock graphics have a separate watermark. We do not recommend using the free download for prints as the print quality will not be crisp.

Note: Free downloads in any social media size (Instagram post, Facebook shared image or others) do not have the small watermark on the bottom left. The GettyImages watermark remains.   

Here’s what you get from the paid download option options: 

1. Watermarks, including those by GettyImages stock graphics are removed. 
2. A larger image size, making it clearer for prints. 
3. A sharp image, with 300 dpi resolution. 
4. The standard image download (for $2.99) can be used for great quality prints for up to 12 inches. 
5. The high-res image download (for $7.99) can be used for great quality prints for up to 9 feet.
