How can I add a filter to my design?

Use filters to beautify a rather plain looking photo, image or background.

Add filter to photos

To add filters to your photos, select your photo. In the right side bar, under 'Effects' click the 'Filter'. Select a filter from the expanded options. Your filter will then be applied.

Add filter to background

You can also add filters to your background. This only works on uploaded photos or stock photos. Filters cannot be added to solid color, gradient color or transparent backgrounds.

Without selecting anything, find the 'Filter' option under 'Effects'. Click and select a filter from the expanded options. Your filter will then be applied.

Different filters to use

The following filters are currently available for use.

  • Black & white
  • Sepia
  • Inverted

Additional adjustments

You can also adjust colors for your background and other images in your design. These are as followed:

Brightness

Make your image lighter or darker with the brightness slider.

Contrast

Add contrast between various elements in your image. Increasing the value of contrast increases item contrast.

Vibrance

Increases vibrancy of colors, making them more striking. Reduce vibrancy to make colors duller and subtle.

Saturation

Similar to vibrance, this increases the intensity of a color. An image with no saturation is black and white.

Tint

Adds a color overlay on top of your image. Pick an overlay color from the color palette and adjust the opacity via the slider.

Multiply

Adds a color overlay with a greater color intensity than tint on top of your image. Pick an overlay color from the color palette and adjust the opacity via the slider.

Gamma

Adjust the intensity of red, blue and green colors in your chosen image. Use the sliders or type in a number from 0-100 to fine tune the gamma.

Stacking Filter with other effects

Filters can be coupled with additional photo altering effects such as tints, multiply, glow, shadow and changes in contrast, brightness or saturation. Experiment with various effects to bring life to an otherwise drab looking photo.
