When designing with PosterMyWall, you can mask photos with text and shape silhouettes. Simply:
- Open the My Stuff page.

Mask with text
- Click ‘Mask’ in the right contextual menu.
- Click ‘TEXT’ in the lower right corner of the pop-up menu.
- Add your text, select the font style and size via the text editing options.
- Click and drag the text box to move it around.
- Click ‘MASK’.
Mask with shapes
- Click ‘Mask’ in the right contextual menu.
- Click ‘SHAPE’ in the lower right corner of the pop-up menu.
- Select a shape to use for masking.
- Place the shape on the photo and resize it by adjusting the shape’s dimensions as per need.
- Invert masking using the ‘Invert’ option. This will mask the shape out of the image.
- Use the ‘Color pop’ option and make the color of the image within the selected shape pop out, leaving the remaining image with a cool, black, and white effect.
- Click MASK.
Mask using freehand
- Click Mask in the right contextual menu.
- Click FREEHAND in the lower right corner of the pop-up menu.
- Select the “Joints - Curves” option for masking people, animals, and other animate objects i.e. objects with curves.
- Select the “Joints - Straight” option to mask objects with straight lines.
- Click MASK.
Make your changes
- Align the text or shape on your design as per choice.
Now your background shines through!
