How to send emails with the Send at Best Time feature on PosterMyWall

‘Send at Best Time’ is a Premium subscription feature you can access right now to send emails at the most optimal time to recipients so that they will likely open and engage with them. This article explains the workings behind 'Send at Best Time', how it works, and how you can use it to give your email campaigns a boost. 

How does ‘Send at Best Time’ work?

If you’ve sent out at least 3 email campaigns using PosterMyWall:

For customers who have used PosterMyWall to send out more than one email campaign, PosterMyWall makes use of the performance metrics of each email you’ve sent to your mailing lists. We look at the average open rates for each mailing list you’ve created based on the timestamp for each of your recipients, and use these open rates and timestamps to calculate the best send time for each mailing list individually. 

The ‘Send at Best Time’ feature will send out your emails at the optimal time calculated for each individual mailing list. 

If you have sent out 2 or less email campaigns using PosterMyWall:

For 2 or less campaigns, PosterMyWall makes use of marketing and industry-based data to determine the Marketing Best Time for the day you select to send out your email. 

How to send/schedule an email with ‘Send at Best Time’?

To use the ‘Send at Best Time’ update:

  1. Start the process of sending out an email campaign. You can do this by going to the ‘Emails’ tab in your My Stuff and selecting ‘Create a new email campaign’. 
  2. Once you’re in our email gallery, select and customize an email template to send out
  3. Customize your template within our email editor. You can do this by selecting the template of your choice and clicking on ‘edit’ to head into the editor. 
  4. Click on ‘send’ on the top right corner of the editor once your email is ready to send out. 
  5. Select which mailing lists you want to send your email to. 
  6. Within the publishing process, click the checkbox for ‘Send at Best Time’ 
  7. Once you select this option, you will be given the best send time. This best send time incorporates the individual best times for each of the mailing lists you have selected. 
  8. Hit send. PosterMyWall will automatically send out all your emails to all your mailing lists in accordance with the best send time calculated. 

Note: You can also schedule your email for a future date and have the best send time recommended for that particular date. Select ‘schedule for later’ within the publishing flow and select the date you prefer. You can then either set a time of your preference or select the Best Time checkbox to have PosterMyWall send at the best send time for the scheduled date. 

Once you’ve scheduled your email to be sent at the best time, you can go back to the campaigns tab on your My Stuff to check the status of your campaign. All campaigns sent/scheduled at the best time will have a ‘Best Time’ tag added to them.
