Yes, you can.
You can either copy and paste text from within the PosterMyWall editor, or you can copy and paste text from an external source.
If copy and paste is unresponsive on your browser, see the Update browser permissions section below.
Within the PosterMyWall editor
To copy and paste text from within the PosterMyWall editor:
- Open the template you’re working on, and the template you want to copy text from, in two separate tabs.
- Select the text box you want to copy. Use Ctrl+C to copy while using Windows, and CMD+C to copy while using MacOS. Alternatively, right-click on the textbox to find the copy option.
- Go to the template you’re working on. Paste the text here. Use Ctrl+V to paste the copied text while using Windows, and CMD+V to paste while using MacOS. Alternatively, right-click on the template to find the paste option. (Note that copy paste also works within the same template you are copying text from.)
- Drag the text box around to where you want to place it, resize it according to your needs, and recolor the text to fit the design.
From an external source
To copy and paste text from an external source (e.g. a document or the Internet):
- Select the text you want to copy and paste from the external source. Use Ctrl+C to copy while using Windows, and CMD+C to copy while using MacOS. Alternatively, right-click on the text to find the copy option.
- Go to the template you’re working on. Paste the text here.
- Remember that you will need to first create a text box in the editor, then paste the content there. To do this:
- Click on the “Text” button on the left side of the editor screen.
- Choose “Add plain text”.
- Paste your text in the box. Use Ctrl+V to paste the copied text while using Windows, and CMD+V to paste while using MacOS. Alternatively, right-click on the text box to find the paste option.
- Drag the text box around to where you want to place it, resize it according to your needs. Recolor the text and change the font to fit the design.
Update browser permissions
You will be asked for permission by your browser when you attempt to copy and paste any item in the PosterMyWall editor for the first time. Allowing this will let you perform copy and paste functions within and across designs.
You will only be asked permission only one, so make sure to hit allow when asked. The permission may look something like this.
If you're unable to copy and paste items nor are you getting this permission pop-up, copy paste may already have been blocked on your browser.
To rectify this issue, click the lock icon beside the site URL. If you're on Microsoft Edge, you will see the option below. On other browsers, you will see a similar menu to enable or disable the clipboard.
Once you've enabled the clipboard, you will be asked to reload the page. Once done, you can resume copying and pasting as normal.
