Learn more about slideshows through this quick video guide:
Use slideshows to create animated slides with text, image and video content. Slideshows allow you to:
- Display more content in less space.
- Make your video dynamic and attractive.
To create slideshows, click 'More' on the left side panel and then select 'Slideshow' from the menu. You'll get the options to add text, stock media, or uploaded media as a slide in your design.
Once you've added a text, image, or video as a slide, you can trim, mute, replace, or add effects to it. You can also add another slide by clicking the '+' button in the right contextual menu.
Use the small square box beside a slide box to set the time duration for each slide, in seconds. It is set to 0 seconds by default. Use the media controls on the bottom left of your page to play or stop your slide. Just add the time (in seconds) beside the 'Intro delay' text box. If you've added a 2-second delay, the slideshow will start 2 seconds after the video starts.
You can also add an intro delay to your slideshows.
Going back to the Slides tab, you can also fine-tune the time between various slides. Just add a number (in seconds) in each text box with the clock symbol. For the above example:
- 'Study anytime, anywhere' will appear for 4 seconds, then disappear.
- The slide will soon be followed up by a 'Grow professionally' slide which will also stay for 4 seconds.
- After 4 seconds, the 'Easy online registration' will appear for 4 seconds and then disappear once 4 seconds pass.
Want to see how that plays out? Here's the result:
Add an intro delay
You can add intro delays to your slideshows to have them start at a later time. Intro delays work great if you have multiple slideshow elements or videos and you want these to start at different times.
To add an intro delay:
- Select a slideshow.
- Add the time in seconds beside 'Intro delay' under the slide settings.
Editing slideshows
Slideshow text content can be customized exactly like plain text. Similarly, slides with photo and video content can also be edited via the Edit tab exactly like other image and video content.
Content can vary greatly between slides within a slideshow, allowing you to express your creativity to the fullest.
To standardize formatting on your slides, select the slide that uses the formatting that you'd like to apply to your other slides within that slideshow. In the Effects tab below, click the blue 'Apply' button as shown below.
Slideshows are free to use, and can be used on all kinds of designs. If your design is an image, adding slides will convert it to a video. Designs with slideshows can be downloaded as an mp4 or .gif file.
Using a transition that works
There are more ways to transition your text than simply fading it in and out of the design. Under the 'Slides' settings in the right contextual menu, click 'Transition' to expand the transition options available to you. Here are the transitions you can use:
- Fade (default option)
- Block
- Shrink
- Peek down (up, left or right)
- Wipe down (up, left or right)
- Pan down (up, left or right)
If you want to create a full transition for your slideshow, toggle the 'Transition Intro & Outro' button, which allows your first text item to transition in and your last text item to transition out. You can also adjust the animation speed from 'slower' to 'faster' and everything in between.
Words can't explain which transition will work best for your design. We recommend experimenting with each transition option to see which makes a good fit for your design.
Adding slideshow in mobile editor
You can also add slideshows to your design in our mobile editor. Just click on the blue Add button with a plus icon at the bottom left of your screen and then click 'Slideshow' on the menu.
Once you've added a text slideshow, stock media, or uploaded media as a slide to your design, you can view the options for editing and positioning it on the bottom panel.
Click 'Slides' on the bottom menu to add an intro delay and more slides (by clicking the '+' button) to the design.
